Petaquilla Gold Reforestation

Petaquilla Gold welcomed 2011 with the first phase of its reforestation program of over one thousand hectares. The project took place for the most part in the local community of Quebrada Leon, in the province of Colón with more than ten thousand trees being planted. Among the different types of trees planted are Maria , Tangare, Nispero, Laurel and Espavel. Fruit trees such as souraop, guava, coconut and mango among other species were also cultivated in the region.

Since 1993, the Petaquilla Group has been developing reforestation programs in approximately five hundred hectares in the provinces of Cocle, Colon and Darien, home to several of our native species.
