The Castilla del Oro Foundation embarks on a new project in Spain, specifically in Helva (Cerro del Andevalo).  For this reason we invite you to learn the history, traditions, and lifestyle of this place in Old Europe, where the Castilla del Oro Foundation takes on a new challenge; to develop what its driver, Eng. Richard Fifer-Carles, calls Second Generation Social Responsibility.

MONTES DE SAN BENITO

A brief walk by the Cerro de Andevalo and its extension Los Montes de San Benito provides a good account of the cultural richness and the weight of the tradition of this region of the province of Huelva.

Churches, chapels, parks, mills and ancient pilgrimage traditions make the Cerro de Andevalo a municipality with an enormous cultural tourist attraction.  The beauty of its landscape, the richness of its traditions, and the human quality of its people turn the visit into a unique and unrepeatable experience.  Dare to know up close the Cerro del Andevalo.

By maintaining traditions deeply rooted in the culture of its people, the Cerro de Andevalo and Los Montes de San Benito become, during the holidays, a home for the local and international visitors, providing shelter and good company to the outsiders, as well as those natives who don’t live here the rest of the year.

In both the Cerro and Los Montes de San Benito the houses of worship, unconditional witnesses of the passing of time, are faithful scribes of history’s whims, as well as the relationships of the locals from distant times with other people from Andalusia, Portugal, or from the center and north of mainland Spain.
